We are a private, non-profit group that partners with corporate and individual landowners to achieve the direct protection of our most important natural treasures through property securement (donation, purchase, conservation agreement and the relinquishment of other legal interests in land) and long-term stewardship of our portfolio of properties. Since 1962, NCC and our partners have helped to conserve more than 2 million acres (over 800,000 hectares) of ecologically significant land nationwide. |

In recent years, NCC has developed new science tools and expertise to ensure the long-term survival of Canada’s plants, animals and ecosystems.
NCC works with private landowners to secure ecologically significant land that we have identified as priorities for conservation. NCC acquires and protects land through land purchase, donation, conservation agreement or relinquishment of rights.
When it comes to protecting Canada’s natural habitats, acquiring land is just the beginning. Making sure the properties secured are well managed and their values are protected is equally important to NCC.
